Hyderabad: The Telangana Anti-Drug Task Force, Elite Action Group for Law Enforcement (EAGLE), on Thursday busted an international drug-smuggling racket involving hydroponic cannabis (ganja). During the operation, authorities seized contraband valued at approximately Rs12 crore in the international market and arrested the alleged mastermind behind the network.
After nearly a month of surveillance, the EAGLE Task Force arrested 10 drug peddlers, including the key accused. Investigations revealed that the gang was primarily involved in smuggling and supplying hydroponic cannabis from Thailand to Hyderabad.
The arrests were made during a targeted operation based on specific intelligence inputs. Further investigations are underway to identify additional links in the syndicate and determine the full extent of the international drug-trafficking network.
