Harriet Sperling arrived at the church in Gloucestershire today to marry the King’s nephew Peter Phillips in an elegant white wedding dress by Emilia Wickstead with a huge alongside her teenage bridesmaids

Royal bride Harriet Sperling stunned in a traditional lace wedding dress and huge veil as she married Peter Phillips today to become the Firm’s newest member.

The mum-of-one arrived to tie the knot with Princess Anne’s son at Gloucestershire’s All Saint’s Church where she was greeted from her car by her bridesmaids – her daughter Georgina and Peter’s daughters Savannah and Isla.

The bride wore a high-necked lace gown by Emilia Wickstead – one of the Princess of Wales’ favourite designers with her bridesmaids also wearing dresses by the same designers. She completed the bridal look with the Pragnall family tiara as well as satin shoes from Jimmy Choo.

She was the last to arrive for the ceremony following on from many of Peter’s royal relatives. Among them were the King and Queen, the Prince and Princess of Wales and the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh. The groom’s mother Princess Anne, opted for yellow as she saw her son tie the knot alongside her husband Sir Timothy Laurence.

Meanwhile, Princess Beatrice and joined the rest of the Royal Family for the first time in months as they gather to celebrate the wedding of Peter Phillips and Harriet Sperling.

The sisters came under scrutiny earlier this week when it emerged that they personally pay no rent for their palace homes, with the King footing the bill. The York sisters arrived for the nuptials walking into the church alongside their husbands Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi and Jack Brooksbank. They were hugged at the gate of the church by their cousin Zara Tindall before they quietly slipped inside.

Inside the church, the bride’s brother Nicholas walked his sister down the aisle in honour of their late father Rupert Sanders. Her bridal bouquet was created by Millie Richardson which included sweet peas, myrtle and lily of the valley. The myrtle is both a family tradition in Harriet’s family and the Royal family alike with its symbolic meaning of love, beauty, and peace.

The bride and groom will be later joined by family and close friends for their wedding reception at Gatcombe Park, home to Princess Anne and her husband Vice Admiral Sir Timothy Lawrence.

Mr Phillips, the late Queen’s eldest grandchild and a nephew of King Charles, announced his engagement to mum-of-one Harriet in August.

The 48-year-old, who is 19th in line to the throne, was previously married to Autumn Kelly, with whom he has two daughters, Isla and Savannah. He also dated long-term partner Lindsay Wallace before they split in 2024, and he later found love with Harriet, an NHS paediatric nurse, who has a teenage daughter called Georgia.

They first made their debut as a couple in the summer of 2024 when they both appeared together at the Badminton Horse Trials, where Harriet mingled with Anne, sister-in-law to be Zara, as well as Queen Camilla.

Last June, they appeared at Royal Ascot together, where Harriet, who has also previously been married, made her debut in one of the carriages during the royal procession – with the move being seen as a significant sign of her moving into the royal fold.

Just weeks later, the pair announced their engagement after Peter proposed with a stunning diamond ring, designed by the same jeweller who made the late Queen’s engagement ring.

Peter married his first wife, Autumn back in May 2008 in a grand ceremony at St George’s Chapel in Windsor, with guests including the late Queen and Prince Philip as well as his cousin Prince Harry. Although Prince William was unable to make it, the Princess of Wales was invited, despite being unmarried at the time – and it is believed the wedding marked the first time she met the late Queen.
