‘Masters of the Universe’ Ending Explained, Does ‘Skeletor’ Walk Away From ‘He-Man’s’ Last Stand?

Masters of the Universe has finally arrived in theatres on June 5, 2026. Featuring Nicholas Galitzine as ‘He-Man’, it is a new remake of the cult classic film of the same name, released in 1987. Notably, the latest entry has arrived years after reports of a reboot went viral on various occasions. For the unversed, the original 1987 film was supposed to get a sequel, which eventually did not happen for multiple reasons.

The reactions to the new Masters of the Universe have been a little positive, and it is expected to do well, considering that the promotional materials were created in an attractive manner. As it features a battle between good and evil, keep reading to know whether the ending has left the possibilities for the story to be explored again in a follow-up!

Everyone gets to know that ‘Adam’ is ‘He-Man’

While characters with special abilities have a habit of hiding their identities from everyone, ‘Adam’ does not do the same here. He tells everyone that his home is Eternia. This includes the people with whom he goes on a date. But no one is ready to believe him. As the movie ends, viewers get to see ‘Hussein,’ the roommate of ‘Adam,’ entering Eternia. This hints that Eternia has something that helps to connect both the realms.

The post-credits scenes also leave a possibility of multiple sequels. It starts with the introduction of ‘Orko,’ who is known to the fans of the ‘He-Man’ cartoons. He tells the audience that muscles cannot prove that someone is a man. The second scene brings ‘He-Man’s’ twin sister, ‘She-Ra.’ She is holding a sword. This happens after ‘Queen Marlena’ tells everything about ‘Adam’ to ‘Duncan,’ who then gives her a hope of someone’s return. The third scene hints that ‘Skeletor’ might be revived since ‘Evil-Lynn’ finds his skull, and his laugh is heard at the same time.

What happens to the main villain and the lead pair?

‘Skeletor’ dies at the end of Masters of the Universe. While he tries to negotiate by speaking with ‘Adam’, things don’t work out as planned since ‘Adam’ believes that ‘Skeletor’ must not live. Moreover, his reign needs to end so that the citizens of Eternia can stay peacefully, including the creatures. On the other hand, ‘Adam’ and ‘Teela’s’ relationship was expected to develop and turn into romance. But ‘Teela’ steps back and clarifies to ‘Adam’ that they are better as close friends. Notably, ‘Teela’ was staying in Eternia for a long time until she found ‘Adam’s’ location due to the Sword of Power.

Masters of the Universe features an intense battle between good and evil

While he decides to fight against ‘Skeletor’ and bring an end to his rule, ‘Adam’s’ father, ‘King Randor,’ dies after ‘Adam’ confronts ‘Skeletor’ for the first time. ‘Adam’ eventually meets his mother and his pet ‘Cringer’. They are also joined by some rebels of Eternia, who have endured a lot during ‘Skeletor’s’ reign. This includes ‘Duncan’, ‘Malcolm’, and ‘Ram-Man’. ‘Adam’ joins ‘Cringer’ and ‘Teela’ at Snake Mountain.

However, ‘Adam’ does not call out ‘Skeletor’ immediately for a battle. Considering his HR experience, ‘Adam’ decides to resolve the problems with a conversation. But ‘Skeletor’ is not ready for that. ‘Skeletor’ gets the upper hand in the final battle, where the Sword of Power breaks and tries to degrade ‘Adam’ by gaining access to his memories. In between that, the ‘Sorceress’ appears and encourages ‘Adam’ to find the power within him. ‘Adam’ becomes ‘He-Man’ and easily takes down ‘Skeletor’. The citizens of Eternia then start rebuilding the place.
