Next’s striped linen set has been selling out quickly as the summer weather hits, and shoppers have hailed it ‘great for holidays’ with four items you can mix and match

A great holiday outfit should be two things; comfortable and stylish. You want fabrics that are going to be breathable and cooling, whilst still feeling put together and comfortable, which is where Next’s linen set comes in.

The co-ord has been flying off the virtual shelves over the last few weeks as shoppers snap it up for their next holiday, and its mix and match design means you can put together the perfect outfit to suit you. You can choose from a top, skirt, shorts and trousers , with each piece coming in the same colourful striped print, with four different colourway options to choose from.

The four colour options are pink and orange, khaki and dark green, beige and cream, and navy and white, with each colour option available in all four different pieces. Each item is available in sizes six to 26, with regular and petite sizing options available to get the right fit for your body. The trousers are also available in short, regular, long, extra long and extra extra long lengths.

Most of the colours have multiple sizes sold out, except for the navy and white which is the newest colour combination to be added and is currently still in stock in all sizes. The Linen Blend Shell Top is priced at £20, whilst the shorts are £24, the skirt is £52 and the trousers are £38 so you can put together an outfit that not only suits your style, but your budget too.

The top has a relaxed, boxy fit with a sleeveless cut and boat neckline, and the length stops just where the waistband of the other items starts for a flattering silhouette. The shorts, meanwhile, have a longline length which offers protection from chafing, with a high buttoned waistband and tailored silhouette for an extra chic twist.

One shopper said: “I bought this with the skirt and trousers as I liked the top with both, very comfortable and stylish.”

Another agreed: “Lovely top, great for holidays,” with a third saying: “Perfect spring summer top.. true to size.”

One did warn: “Lovely little top, little being the operative word… rather short! Had to return it.”

If a skirt is more your style, you could pick up the Drop Waist Linen Blend Maxi Skirt, which has a broad waistband and a flowing A-line drape for extra airiness and movement. For something more versatile, the striped trousers are a staple you can wear anywhere and everywhere, with a wide leg, high buttoned waistband and side pockets giving them a smarter feel than your typical linen trousers.

Every item in the striped linen set is made with 55% linen and 45% Livaeco viscose, which keeps it breathable, lightweight and cool to wear even in scorching temperatures. You can mix and match everything together, or pair each piece with your existing wardrobe to create multiple different holiday ready looks.

A matching linen set is undeniably chic, which is why it’s no surprise that there’s plenty of other options around if the Next set isn’t for you. At ASOS you can pick up the Noisy May Linen Mix Shirt Co-Ord in Pink and Red Stripe (£36) and the matching Linen Mix Short Co-Ord (£25) if you want some coverage for your shoulders against the sun.

Alternatively, Nobody’s Child’s Green Striped Linen-Blend Swing Top (£47) and the co-ordinating Reese Wide Leg Trousers (£69) were worn by Vicky Pattison recently and were a big hit with her fans. You can also swap the trousers for matching Green Striped Linen-Blend Shorts (£45) to give you more options.
