Former Coronation Street actress Helen Flanagan has insisted that her next relationship will be her most serious as she is now looking to get married but fears she may have been too open in her memoir
When Helen Flanagan first met her footballer ex Scott Sinclair and started a family, she probably assumed he would be her happy ever after. However, after 13 years together, the Coronation Street actress split with Scott four years ago and she found herself starting from scratch again in the dating world.
But now, the actress turned reality TV star is adamant she is searching for her husband and is not prepared to just aimlessly date.
In a recent interview, the mum of three, 35, said: “I do feel that when I do next have my next relationship, and I think that when I have my next relationship, I think it will be my husband.”
In her chat with interviewer Lewis Nicholls, she added: “I think it will be the real thing. I will choose to protect it and I will keep that private. I will probably say who that person is, but I will want to protect it. I will want to keep it private.”
She continued: “I’ll want to keep it really special, because I kind of feel like everybody’s always got something to say. My next relationship I have I think will be my husband, because I won’t be wasting my time, really. I will want to choose to protect it, definitely.”
But Helen, who played Rosie Webster on the hit ITV soap and most recently appeared on Celebrity Ex On The Beach, alongside TOWIE star Dani Imbert and Jedward, fears she may have revealed too much in her autobiography, Head & Heart: Break-ups, Breakdowns and Being Rosie.
Helen then went on to say: “I think it’s a difficult one because sometimes you can choose, sometimes I do find it difficult, but then again I have spoke about things, so you have to find a way to deal with it. I’ve got friends that are actors and actresses, and they have already chose to be more private about things. I have spoke about things, like I wrote a book. I don’t know, maybe if I was too honest in my book a little bit, but it’s done now. It’s written. “
She claimed: “The book is there, so there’s no taking it back. I was actually talking about mental health, and wanted to give context to it.”
Earlier this year it was alleged that Scott was forcing her and their three children to leave the six bedroom house they once shared near Bolton.
While visiting Scotland, the TV personality decided to share a cryptic post. She said: “No weapon used against me shall prosper. Love wins. I found this spot at Loch Lomond in lockdown and it’s just special to me.
She added: “I don’t know why but I suppose we all take comfort in things and if it makes sense to us then that’s enough and every time I go to Scotland I go there.”
The couple are said to be communicating through relatives.
