Visakhapatnam:Union steel minister H.D. Kumaraswamy arrived at the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant (VSP) late on Monday evening to review the situation following the accident that claimed eight lives and left several others injured.
The minister held discussions with officials of the Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited (RINL) and local NDA leaders on the circumstances surrounding the incident and the measures being taken in its aftermath.
Union minister of state for heavy industries Bhupathiraju Srinivasa Varma was also scheduled to join the visit.
Official sources said Deputy Chief Minister K. Pawan Kalyan and minister for education, IT and electronics Nara Lokesh are expected to visit the steel plant on Tuesday.
They are likely to interact with RINL officials and meet the families of the deceased and injured workers.
