Katie Price’s husband Lee Andrews has pleaded with his wife to set up a GoFundMe page in order to raise the £140,000 he needs to be released from Dubai’s Al Awir prison

Katie Price’s husband, Lee Andrews, has begged her to help him get out of jail. Currently, Lee is being held in Dubai’s notorious Al Awir prison, despite claims he was due to be released last week.

Initially, it was reported that Lee would have to cough up a four-figure sum in order to be released from jail. However, it has now been disclosed that he will have to pay a staggering £140,000 for his freedom.

And although Lee claims to be a millionaire and could find the large sum, he’s now hoping his wife will help. While Katie won’t be using any of her own money to free her husband, he’s pleaded with her to start a GoFundMe, which would see members of the public part with their cash to help raise the funds to secure his release.

However, during a phone call with her husband, Katie gave Lee quite a blunt message. “No one will do that for you, Lee, trust me,” she said. The Sun reports that she added: “Everyone hates you.”

While the conditions inside Al Awir are notoriously grim, Lee has claimed to his wife that his life behind bars is far from that. Instead, he claims to have befriended Daniel Kinahan, who was arrested in Dubai following a months-long bilateral collaboration between Irish and United Arab Emirates officials to apprehend one of the world’s most wanted alleged criminals.

Lee told Price that he’d had dinner and breakfast with Kinahan, who is “all right, actually”. He also claims that the pair speak Gaelic to one another, so their conversations are not intercepted by prison guards.

But while Katie still protests that she’s madly in love with Lee and trusts him, she herself has revealed that their relationship could be over in the near future. Lee initially claimed he’d been arrested and detained following allegations of espionage. It was later reported to be a private civil matter.

For the first time, Katie also said she needed answers from Lee. “I need answers, and if I don’t like the answers, I’ll be gone,” she told the same newspaper over the weekend.

She added: “I’m 48. I don’t need to waste my time. We get along really well and he’s so intelligent … As much as I want to listen to the women [his exes] and I’m really open-minded about it, I know what a good woman I am.”

Katie insisted she is “protected” and “taking notes” – warning fans not to treat her as a “mug”. She explained: “There is no way he would mess with me, and in a way, I feel protected because I have the nation looking out for me.

“I’m not a mug, and when I finally see Lee, I am going to question him. And if the answers I get are not right, that will be it: I’ll be done. That’s it. And I’ll just get on with my life… and not find a man on Instagram and message him.”

Over the weekend, the former glamour model appeared on stage at Canterbury Pride and asked the crowd if she should leave her husband. “I want to hear it from you guys, do I leave Lee or stay with him?” she asked, to which the crowd instantly cheered.
