Molly-Mae Hague has come under fire for comments she made comparing her daughter Bambi and her newborn.
The Love Island star and partner Tommy Fury welcomed their second child last week, and she has been updating fans about the newborn’s first few days on social media. However, she has been heavily criticised for some of the comments she has made.
Molly-Mae previously confessed that she found the newborn stage with Bambi tricky. She had described it as “unbelievably difficult and daunting” at the time. She added: “Looking back I can’t really say that there was any part of it that I enjoyed.”
In a new post, following the arrival of her son, Molly-Mae thanked him for “healing” her. She wrote: “Thank you for healing so many of my newborn fears little one. The peace and happiness I feel this time around is something I wished for but didn’t know would come.”
However, her comments didn’t land well with fans, who felt she was criticising her daughter Bambi.
“I never thought she was attached to Bambi and making comments like this is going to likely give her a complex in the future,” one wrote, whilst another penned online: “Sounds like you’re going to favourite this baby, when nothing to do with either of her children, only her. Repulsive thing to do and in public.”
Some fans defended Molly-Mae, writing: “It feels different this time because she’s been through it and knows the hard newborn stage doesn’t last. Second is easier because you know what to expect.”
When one wrote: “What a terrible thing to write…..does she not realise Bambi will read this one day? I’m truly shocked that a mother would publicly say that she loves her new baby in a way she didn’t love her first baby,” another fan responded to add: “She didn’t say that. She’s saying the second child is easier and less scary to look after because you have some experience of dealing with a newborn.”
One shared: “The difference compared to this stage with Bambi is indescribable’ wow… poor Bambi reading that when she’s older!!”
Bambi was born in January 2023 and just last week, Molly-Mae and Tommy Fury welcomed their second child, a baby boy. They have yet to announce the name of the little one – but it will all be revealed when Tommy steps in the ring soon.
