Jesy Nelson’s sister has leapt to her sibling’s defence after former Little Mix band mate Perrie Edwards labelled the singer ‘difficult’
Jesy Nelson’s sister didn’t hold back as she defended the star against Perrie Edwards’ latest comments. Perrie labelled her former Little Mix band mate “difficult” in a recent chat with Jamie Laing. She then went one further and said she doesn’t see a future in which she and Jesy would ever be friends again.
The surprise comments to the former Made In Chelsea man on his Great Company podcast upset Jesy’s sister. Jade Nelson leapt to the defence of her sibling. On Instagram, she hit back and said she is fed up with “lies and accusations”.
She wrote: “People say in life be the bigger person, keep quiet, but actually sometimes it doesn’t do any good. l’ve watched my sister go through hell and back for many many years and very few will only ever understand what it’s like to be tormented, bullied and pulled down for the way you look.”
She added: “It’s really easy to say just ignore it, but until you are in that situation yourself you will never ever really no how it will affect them.”
Jade went on: “But I think when you attempt to end your life not once, but twice it’s shows the dark place you must be in and YES that was with a lack of support many many times.”
Jesy has previously been open about her struggles with her mental health. And Jade continued: “As for not taking accountability, that is actually all she’s done, she’s fully aware she was hard work.
“She’s fully aware she was hard to deal with but through it all if any other single person were struggling with a break up, anxiety, life, she was there! lsn’t that what you do as friends or if you love someone?”
Perrie had told Jamie: “What annoys me is the most, and again I have to be careful how I say this as I don’t want to seem like a b**** but for me what upsets me the most is when situations like this happen and the other person doesn’t take any accountability, that boils my blood!
“I am not blaming everything on you, I am not saying that she’s this f****** monster and everything was her thought blah, blah, blah but take some accountability for your actions and realise you were difficult, you did have difficult moments.”
Jesy left Little Mix in December 2020 after nine years in the band. At the time, she said the pressure had taken a toll on her mental health.
Whilst Jade Thirwall, Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Perrie continued on as a trio for several years, they eventually broke off to pursue solo projects.
In a recent documentary, Jesy explained how she had not seen her former bandmates for nearly five years but didn’t rule out a chance of a reunion. But following Perrie’s comments, that seems a very distant possibility.
