Jordan Brook has revealed why he won’t be proposing to Sophie Kasaei any time soon, after the reality star was left unable to walk and speak following a battle with meningitis
Jordan Brook has opened up about why he won’t propose to Sophie Kasaei. The reality TV star who found fame on The Only Way Is Essex recently suffered ill health after battling meningitis, which left him unable to walk or speak.
Jordan, 31, returned home in April after spending several weeks in the hospital following a blue-lighting. But while he and Sophie, who appeared on MTV’s Geordie Shore, are expecting their first child together, marriage isn’t on the horizon for them.
Speaking on the latest episode of the You Alright Hun? podcast from TOWIE, Jordan has opened up about how the virus wreaked havoc on his body. “I had a limp down my right leg, which was a signal from my brain that hadn’t healed,” he said.
He went on to say: “I’ve got extreme overstimulation in places where I used to thrive and love being in, and I’ve always been on stage singing.” Jordan says that now, he feels like a “shell” of himself, and he’s worried about his strength.
Throughout the podcast, Jordan praised his partner, 36, for supporting him throughout his health battle while being pregnant. “I don’t know what I would’ve done without that girl,” Jordan said. He added that he had no idea how Sophie had navigated through life while being heavily pregnant.
Reflecting on any wedding bells, Jordan revealed that Sophie isn’t keen on being proposed to while she’s pregnant. So instead, the couple will welcome their first child together before considering getting married. He went on to add: “But if she falls pregnant again, she’s never gonna want to get married while she’s pregnant. She wants our kids close together, so it’s circumstantial.
“That’s naturally gonna end up being two, three, maybe four years until we get married.” Speaking previously, Jordan explained he feared that he would die before his and Sophie’s son was born.
Speaking to The Sun, he said: “We have gone to hell and back trying to have a baby, and suddenly there was a real possibility I was going to die before my son was born.”
He continued: “He saved my life because becoming a father was the one thing I held onto and never forgot – even when the virus was actively changing who I was.” Despite the arrival of their son being soon, Jordana nd Sophie previously revealed that the couple hadn’t chosen a name for their son yet.
When asked by a fan if they had decided, Sophie replied: “I think boy names are actually really, really hard. I do struggle with boy names. Me and Jordan have had a lot of discussions with boy names, we are struggling to come to an agreement with boy names.
“Obviously he was in hospital for two months. He still deals with a lot of brain injury, so I just don’t want to really pressure him too much. But we are getting closer to our arrival and the conversation will be needed very soon. We are very very different with names so it’s a bit of a hard one and it’s a bit of a sore subject.”
Jordan said that the condition was changing his personality as it was making his brain swell, which was pushing against vital areas of his brain.
His personality had changed so much that he shouted at a member of the public to turn his phone down as he could hear what he was listening to.
After 22 days, Jordan was allowed to leave the hospital, but his recovery was far from over. As he was unable to walk for a while he is currently suffering muscle deterioration and fatigue.
