Loose Women’s Coleen Nolan shut down her son’s invitation after he mentioned her ex-husband Shane Richie, in a new episode of their podcast
Loose Women star Coleen Nolan appeared to make a telling remark about her ex-husband Shane Richie during a discussion about holidays. The 61-year-old was married to the former EastEnders actor from 1990 until 1999. Together, they share two sons, Shane Nolan and Jake Roche.
The Celebs Go Dating star is also mum to daughter Ciara, whom she shares with her second husband, Ray Fensome.
During a new episode of the Nolans Uncensored podcast, Coleen, Shane and Ciara reminisced about family holidays. While filming, her son revealed he was heading off on a family getaway immediately after recording.
Reacting to the news, Coleen said: “I’m really, really, jealous of you going on holiday today,” to which he replied: “Why?”.
“Because I’m not going,” she added. However, after learning more about the holiday plans, Coleen appeared less enthusiastic. Shane joked: “I’m going with dad, wanna come?,” to which she swiftly responded: “No!”
“There we go then,” he replied. Despite their marriage ending in divorce after a rocky period, Coleen and Shane have previously spoken about remaining on good terms.
However, in May last year, Shane appeared to make a light-hearted dig at his ex-wife’s frequent references to him on Loose Women.
Speaking to Bella Magazine, he said: “I only watch Loose Women to see what I’m up to, and you can quote me on that.”
Pressed further about their co-parenting relationship, he added: “We met when she was 21 and I was 22, and we were mates.
“We just grew up together and we still are good friends. We’ve got two great kids together and now we’re both grandparents.”
Coleen has also previously spoken about maintaining friendships with her former husbands. Speaking on the Loose Women podcast, she described Ray, who she was married to for 11 years, as “one of my best friends” and revealed he still stays at her home when he is performing nearby.
Asked by a co-star Kaye Adams whether she had any romantic feelings for him, the mother-of-three replied: “No, no romantic feelings. We’ve been in my house on my own and both gone ‘night’ while he’s gone into the spare room, I’ve gone into my room, and when you think for 17 years we shared a room, there’s not even a moment of that. Not one moment.”
Coleen’s most recent public relationship was with Michael Jones, whom she dated for three years after the pair met on a dating app. Following their split in 2024, she signed up to Celebs Go Dating, but despite going on various dates, nothing serious came from them.
Previously asked why she believes a romance hasn’t worked out for her since being single, she said: “I don’t know. If you knew the magic ingredient, then it would be instant, wouldn’t it? I just think with dating and with meeting someone, it’s a connection with someone that you can’t explain.
“It might be you have your own ideas in your head of what you’re looking for. I want someone dark hair, quite tall, this, that, and the other. But it can also be someone that you meet, and you just get on. And they don’t actually tick any box, but there’s just something there. So I don’t know is the answer.”
