Kim Kardashian has been mocked by F1 star Kimi Antonelli after a video of her appearing to swipe his towel went viral while she was at the Monaco Grand Prix supporting her boyfriend, Ferrari driver Lewis Hamilton.
The reality TV star made her first appearance on the grid at the weekend after embarking on a romance with Hamilton, she was joined by her sister Khloe, with her every move watched like a hawk from eagle-eyed audiences.
One moment caught on camera saw the global star and actress walk past a podium and pick up a towel to daub her face and sunglasses after being sprayed by champagne. The towel was left out for Mercedes driver Antonelli – who managed to beat Hamilton to first place, and the clipped moment send fans into a tizzy.
Making light of the moment, in a video on TikTok from the Mercedes F1 team, the drivers joked about the incident as Antonelli, 19, asked the camera: “I was wondering, have you seen my towel?”
His teammate George Russell was then asked: “George have you seen Kimi’s towel?” to which he replied: “No.” Antonelli was then seen washing his hands and asking again: “Hey, have you seen my towel?”
The video from Mercedes-AMG F1 immediately went viral with over 4.4million views and nearly 900k views within the first 19 hours. Fans were all in on the joke, after a great deal of attention was paid to Kim during her F1 appearance.
Kim also caused a stir after she ignored Sky Sports pundit Martin Brundle when he tried to interview her: “Kim, Martin Brundle from Sky F1, how are you today?” he enquired politely.
Kardashian glanced at him and offered a smile, before swiftly turning away, clearly disinclined to speak. Brundle extended his microphone in the hope of coaxing a response from her, but without success.
The pundit told a bodyguard: “Don’t push me, mate” as he attempted but ultimately failed to secure a quick chat with Kim Kardashian during his Monaco Grand Prix grid walk.
After Kim appeared at the Grand Prix, Lewis broke his silence about their relationship, commenting: “It’s amazing to have her come this weekend and have her support. My friends [in general]. It was an incredible turnout overall.
“I don’t know what else to say. It’s amazing to have good people around you and supporting you. And she does that for me every day.”
