ADILABAD: Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka will distribute appointment orders to 335 dependents of medically invalidated employees of Singareni Collieries Company Limited during his visit to Mancherial on June 13.
He is also scheduled to interact with beneficiaries appointed on compassionate grounds and their family members.
The state government is considering continuation of the Singareni Medical Board with certain changes, amid earlier reports of its possible scrapping. The issue had triggered concern among workers’ families, particularly those who secured jobs following medical invalidation of employees.
Workers who benefited under the system opposed any move to discontinue the Medical Board, citing uncertainty over compassionate appointments.
Officials said nearly 15,000 dependents of medically invalidated employees have been given jobs in SCCL in recent years.
Bhatti said the government would ensure transparent functioning of the Medical Board.
He added that 2,657 jobs have been provided in SCCL under the present government, including 555 external recruitments, while the rest were on compassionate grounds.
The government is expected to take a decision on restructuring the Medical Board while continuing support for dependent employment.
