Perrie Edwards and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain have tied the knot in a stunning ceremony in the Algarve, four years after getting engaged
Little Mix’s Perrie Edwards and footballer Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain are married!
The happy couple exchanged their vows in Quinta do Lago in Portugal. The pair know the area well, owning a villa in the Algarve, which they have holidayed in many times over the years.
Perrie, from South Shields in Tyneside, has been with former Liverpool and Arsenal midfielder Oxlade-Chamberlain since 2017 and they became engaged in 2022.
The couple chose to say ‘I do’ in a low-key ceremony before hosting their closest family friends at the nearby Parrilla Natural restaurant, which serves up Uruguayan inspired dishes in one of the most scenic spots in the algarve.
“Perrie and Alex’s wedding day could not have been more special. It was intimate and emotional,” a source told The Sun, revealing the day was filled with small personal touches.
“Perrie and Alex’s son Axel had a special role to play in the ceremony. It was adorable to see. Perrie looked absolutely radiant and Alex didn’t stop smiling. It was a truly beautiful day.”
Prior to their big day, the couple hosted a lavish pre-wedding party for their guests to mingle. Stars who have flown out are Alex’s football pals ex Arsenal footballer Carl Jenkinson and Fulham’s Harrison Reed. While Perrie’s special guests included her Little Mix bandmates Jade Thirwall and Leigh-Anne Pinnock.
It’s claimed Alex’s brother was one of the last to leave night one of the wedding, with most guests calling it a night at 10pm.
It comes just five months after 32-year-old Perrie, who also shares a son named Axel with the former England midfielder, also 32, gave birth to their second child, daughter Alanis Valentine.
During a candid talk with We Need To Talk podcast with Paul C Brunson, Perrie also revealed that she had two miscarriages, once before she had her son and again after he was born.
Perrie rose to fame after winning The X Factor in 2011 with the pop group Little Mix which included Edwards , Pinnock, Thirlwall and Jesy Nelson, who have gone on to have five UK number one singles and a UK number one album. Their best known songs include Black Magic, Shout Out To My Ex and Wings.
Jesy left the band in December 2020, however, the group continued to perform as a trio until they went on a hiatus in 2022 which was around the time Perrie suffered her second miscarriage.
She has since launched her solo career, performing under the stage name Perrie, and released new music including Forget About Us, Tears and You Go Your Way.
