Mega Drug Bust: 5 Arrested with 201 kg Ganja Worth ₹1 Crore in Kothagudem

Nalgonda: Five people, including a woman, were arrested at Pallipadu in Konijerla mandal of Bhadradri Kothagudem district on Sunday for allegedly transporting 201 kg of ganja worth about ₹1 crore, police said.

The accused were identified as Amul Nanoba Gore, 35, and Lakshman Naganath Kare, 26, of Maharashtra, and Vasantha Jadhav, 40, Shaik Ansar, 30, and Shaik Rahmat, 32, of Kamareddy district.
According to police, the arrests were made during vehicle checks on the Wyra-Khammam road. Police intercepted a car and a Bolero mini truck heading towards Khammam from Wyra and allegedly found 201 kg of ganja being transported in the vehicles.
Police said the consignment was being moved illegally and seized the contraband along with the vehicles.
The alleged supplier and intended receiver of the ganja escaped and are being traced.
Konijerla police registered a case and launched efforts to apprehend the absconding accused.
