Spain did not take Yamal to Mexico for a friendly against Peru days before the start of the final, but head coach Luis de la Fuente did not rule out using him when their competitive campaign begins against 69th-ranked Cape Verde in Atlanta on June 15.
De la Fuente said the initial “timeline” of Yamal’s return had given him “confidence” he would be available for the opener.
