Michelle McKenna discovered she had breast cancer as she was dealing with a devastating miscarriage and after day one of chemotherapy was ticked off, she posted a candid message
Michelle McKenna has begun chemotherapy after provided an update on her battle with breast cancer.
The music star, an original member of pop group Platnum, is sharing her recovery journey and has posted on Instagram following her latest hospital visit yesterday. She is determined to fight the disease head-on and bravely opened up about his treatment as she tries to raise more awareness.
Michelle’s diagnosis happened in a harrowing period in her life. In She fell pregnant late last year with her second child, but discovered she had suffered a devastating miscarriage. During her pregnancy she found a lump in her breast and doctors soon delivered the terrible news.
But, surrounded by her family, she ticked off day one of chemo with a candid post as she thanked her luxury estate agent husband Daniel Johnson, who has been with her every step of the way. She wrote: “First day of chemo complete. I just want to say a huge thank you to everyone for all your beautiful messages, love, and support.
“It honestly means the world to me, and I appreciate every single one of you. A special thank you to my angels, @asirr_07 and @iamdanieljohnson. My rocks through all of this. I genuinely don’t know what I’d do without you both. Love you endlessly xxx.”
She went on to joke to her followers that felt like a “human pin cushion” but was just happy the head home.
“The Herceptin injection stung a bit,” she went on to say in her post. “But surprisingly it wasn’t as bad as the endless attempts to find a vein!
“Then came the cold cap… WOW. Whoever invented that deserves some kind of award because it is NOT for the weak! It felt like a brain freeze that lasted forever, but I did it.
“So here I am, one round down. Feeling grateful, emotional, proud, and hopeful all at the same time. Now I’m just praying the side effects are kind to me over the next few days.”
At the start of her fight, Tulisa opened up on her best friend’s cancer diagnosis and how she ‘cried like a baby’ for weeks.
Tulisa shared a photo to Instagram of her close pal Michelle, along with the caption: “2025 was a big year in terms of emotional & personal growth. A lot of chaos to work through. Especially for my sister @michelleplatnum embracing her breast cancer diagnosis. Surgery has gone well so far so good.
“What an absolute warrior. Her positive energy & ability to still laugh has been truly remarkable & inspiring.
“You are not just my sister. You are my soul mate. & I don’t know where I would be in this world without you. I love you sis. You ain’t going NOWHERE! Her bravery inspires us all to check our own health. Family is everything! @iamdanieljohnson love you bro. Please check your breasts!”
