Joe Swash’s EastEnders star sister Shana has announced her second pregnancy with an adorable post with her eldest daughter Kitty who is set to become a big sister
Shana Swash has announced her second pregnancy with her fiancé Nick Jones, revealing that she is set to welcome her second child in December this year.
The 35-year-old actress who is the younger sibling of Joe Swash, 44, revealed her pregnancy with an ultrasound scan which she was seen holding in a black and white image with her partner Nick and their daughter Kitty. The caption of the image read: “Kitty has accepted a new position as Big Sister. Start date: December 2026.”
Fans were delighted with the news and took to the comment section to congratulate the star on the Instagram post. Nick penned: “‘Thank you @shana_swash for being the best mum can’t wait for the next chapter with 4 of us #bringiton xx.”
Shana Swash is the real-life younger sister of television presenter and former soap star Joe Swash. After Joe played Mickey Miller on the BBC soap opera EastEnders , Shana was then introduced to play his on-screen half sister, Demi Miller.
She joined the soap aged just 14, overlapping with her brother’s time on the show as her character’s older half-brother and stayed in the role from 2004 until 2006.
Joe appeared on EastEnders as Mickey from 2003 until 2008, returning briefly in 2011 and then later 2024 ahead of the soap’s 50th birthday celebrations. While Joe stayed on EastEnders two years after his sister, Shana and her co-star Gerry Cowper were axed from the soap by producer John Yorke in 2006.
“Gerry and Shana have been enormous assets and go with our best wishes,” a spokesperson for EastEnders said at the time. Shana went onto quit showbusiness and set up a coffee stop with her carpenter partner, Nick Jones.
Since Shana’s time on EastEnders, she has appeared in guest roles on After You’ve Gone, Doctors, Top Boy and film Love Without Walls. She also stopped by All Star Family Fortunes, I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! NOW!, Your Face or Mine? and Loose Women over the years.
Since leaving acting behind, Shana and her partner launched a coffee stall called Swash and Jones Coffee. They launched the project in 2021 and said that it came because of the Covid-19 lockdown.
She previously told the Express: “I work for myself, so I can come and go as I please, and that’s the glory of it. So if something does come up, I can shut up or get somebody in, and I can go and do some work.”
She added that it was always something that interested her: “That came out of Covid and lockdown, and not having a job, and needing something. It was a real change-up, because I was doing something that I’ve always wanted to do.”
In December 2023, Shana welcomed her first child with first daughter Kitty Frances-Swash Jones. Her brother Joe is a proud dad to four children, plus two step-children.
Joe and 41-year-old ex-partner, Emma Sophocleous share eldest son Harry, 19, and with Stacey Solomon he is dad to son Rex, seven, and daughters Rose, four, and Belle, three, with his TV personality wife Stacey Solomon. He is also a stepfather to Stacey’s sons Zachary,18, and Leighton, 14, who he also lives with at their Essex home known as Pickle Cottage.
