From the Little Mix-inspired playlist to three different wedding dresses – all the major details from Perrie Edwards and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain’s big day
After a four-year engagement, it’s understandable that Perrie Edwards went all out for her wedding to Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, with no less than three dresses and a Little Mix-inspired playlist for their big day.
The couple, both 32, first started dating in 2016 before announcing their engagement in 2022 – they went on to welcome children Axel and Alanis together.
After a decade-long romance, the lovebirds walked down the aisle in Portugal last weekend, surrounded by their children, family, friends and famous faces.
In new pictures from their celebrations, the bride donned a “perfect” floor-length white lace gown with long sleeves for the ceremony, from Dana Harel – complete with a Browns Bride train, while the footballer opted for a simple black tux.
After their vows, British Vogue reports that Perrie swapped her white dress for another stunning outfit to mark her first dance with her new husband, opting for a Galia Lahav embellished creation, paired with Jimmy Choo heels.
Of course, two dresses weren’t quite enough for the Woman Like Me singer, who slipped into a custom minidress from Annie’s Ibiza for the reception, which she coupled with a dramatic matching headdress, and Louboutin shoes.
“I wanted to change for the evening so I could dance and be free,” she told the outlet of her final outfit choice. “It was short and fun and fab and cinched to the heavens with the corset!”
Speaking of the emotional moment she saw her partner at the altar for the first time, she recalled: “Alex isn’t a crier – he doesn’t get emotional that often. But when he turned around at the altar and saw me for the first time, we both just cried our eyes out. I thought: I’ll never forget this moment right here. It was beautiful. I’ve never experienced a room so full of love.”
The newlyweds welcomed 140 guests to celebrate their love at a Catholic church in Estoi, in the Algarve. Alex’s former Arsenal teammates, Danny Welbeck and Kieran Gibbs, were also on the guestlist, as was England’s Mason Mount.
Little Mix legends Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Jade Thirlwall were by their bandmate’s side for much of the bash – but the latter was forced to leave early as she was performing at Primavera Festival on Saturday.
They were serenaded by a 16-piece band at the reception, and a set from Sol & The Gang, who took the opportunity to perform Little Mix’s classic hit, Wings, as well as En Vogue’s hit, Don’t Let Go – in a sweet nod to the band’s winning stint on X Factor.
“We were absolutely going off to En Vogue,” Perrie said. “We still remembered all of our harmonies and the choreography!”
“We wanted to make sure every moment of the day was an experience for our guests,” she added, describing the wedding as “the best day of my life – up there with the births of my children.”
