Hyderabad: The Telangana EAGLE Force carried out a daring inter-state operation in the source areas supplying ganja from Koraput to Telangana, resulting in the seizure of 500 kg of the contraband.
Based on credible information, the EAGLE Force patrolling team led by Sub-Inspector K. Ravi Prasad followed an SUV from Balimela to Jeypore for almost 80 kms on Wednesday night.
After a daring chase they managed to stop the vehicle in deep jungle but the driver escaped. The contraband was handed over to Koraput police in the wee hours. In the hilly terrain coupled with poor visibility, the accused managed to escape but 90 packets weighing five kgs each and 25 packets weighing two kgs each were recovered after inspecting the vehicle.
As per registration records, the vehicle is registered in the name of Amir Alli Khan, resident of Gandhi Nagar, Nuasahi, Nabarangapur district, Odisha.
