Vaibhav Suryavanshi grabs a spectacular diving catch against Afghanistan A
The stunning moment arrived during Afghanistan A’s chase when pacer Anshul Kamboj was operating with the new ball. On the fourth delivery of the sixth over, Afghanistan opener Khalid Taniwal attempted to flick a back-of-a-length delivery towards the leg side. However, the batter failed to middle the shot and instead got a leading edge that flew towards Suryavanshi.
The youngster initially managed to get only one hand on the ball and seemed set to spill the chance. But displaying exceptional awareness and athleticism, he quickly turned around as the ball popped into the air behind him. Suryavanshi then launched into a full-length dive and completed a remarkable catch on the second attempt, leaving teammates and spectators stunned.
The dismissal brought an end to Taniwal’s innings on 13 off 10 deliveries and provided India A with an early breakthrough. The brilliant effort immediately gained attention on social media, with fans praising the 15-year-old for his sharp reflexes and commitment in the field.

India A storm into Tri-Nation A Series final with commanding victory
Earlier in the day, India A posted an imposing 319/9 from their allotted 50 overs after being asked to bat first. The innings was built around important contributions from Priyansh Arya, Kumar Kushagra and skipper Tilak Varma. Arya continued his impressive form with a fluent 58, while Kushagra marked his return to the side with a well-constructed 58. Tilak anchored the middle overs superbly and registered another half-century, scoring 59 to guide India A towards a competitive total.
Suryavanshi once again provided an aggressive start at the top of the order. Although he could not convert his innings into a big score, the youngster entertained with a quick-fire 38 off 28 balls that included four boundaries and two towering sixes. Afghanistan A began the chase positively and were well placed at 157/3 in the 25th over, thanks largely to an 87-run partnership between Bahir Shah and Faisal Shinozaza. However, India’s spin attack completely changed the complexion of the match.
Nishant Sindhu led the charge with outstanding figures of 4/31, while Vipraj Nigam and Anukul Roy chipped in with crucial breakthroughs. Once Bahir departed for 57, Afghanistan A suffered a dramatic collapse, losing their remaining wickets cheaply. The innings eventually folded for 218 in 36.5 overs, handing India A a convincing 101-run victory. The win secured their place in the tournament final, where they will now face Sri Lanka A in the title clash.
