Named Soft Armour, the standout sari gown is from Gupta’s Paris Couture 2026 collection, The Divine Androgyne. Drawing from an ancient spiritual idea that questions society’s binary construct, the collection fused together masculine and feminine design elements—like seamlessly integrating a structured, corseted bodice with fluid draping. Panday’s one-shoulder gown was emblematic of this philosphy, too.
Crafted from lustrous, high-shine satin, the garment featured a bold, thigh-high slit juxtaposed with a pleated train that swept behind her. Cascading crystal tassels elegantly framed the neckline and swept across her shoulder, delivering a jewellery-like finish directly onto the fabric.
Panday’s resident stylist Priyanka Kapadia paired the custom drape with a statement Piaget haute joaillerie cuff-style watch, anchoring the look to the evening’s host. For footwear, she opted for Christian Louboutin‘s Follies Strass pumps to complement the gown’s embellishments. Panday’s hair were styled into a sleek bun, keeping the look as the focal point. Her makeup was kept minimal with brown, smoky eyes and a nude lip.
From Vogue’s fashion desk:
“Dial up the drama with something unexpected, like a pair of electric purple pumps to add a bit of contrast. keep the lips nude and the eyes smokey for the full effect,” says Manglien Gangte, Vogue India fashion associate.
