DHARWAD: The principal-cum-owner of a private school in Navalgund has been arrested after a 10-year-old hostel student died after allegedly falling from the second floor of the school building.
According to the complaint filed by the father, the boy had repeatedly expressed his desire to leave the school’s hostel. The principal scolded and hit the boy on the morning of June 18, when he reiterated his wish to go home. It is alleged that the boy then jumped from the building. Though he was rushed to hospital, he succumbed to the injuries.
Dharwad SP Gunjan Arya said a case has been registered against the principal under section 107 of BNS.
