Nalgonda: Three members of a family died after their car hit a roadside tree in Madharam forest area of Mulakalapalli mandal in Bhadradri-Kothagudem district, police said on Sunday.
The victims were identified as Dudala Sai Kumar, 25, his wife Sandhya, 23, and their son Mokshith, 4, residents of Musalimadugu in Wyra mandal of Khammam district.
Police said the family was returning home after attending a function at a relative’s house in Mulakalapalli when Sai Kumar, who was driving the car, lost control of the vehicle and hit the tree. Overspeeding is suspected to have caused the accident.
Sai Kumar, Sandhya and Mokshith suffered severe injuries and died on the spot. Sai Kumar’s mother, Jyothi, was injured and shifted to a hospital in Palwancha. Her condition was said to be serious.
Mulakalapalli police registered a case and took up investigation.
