Large Turnout For Yoga Day Fete In Nalgonda, Khammam

Nalgonda: Large participation marked the International Day of Yoga celebrations held across erstwhile Nalgonda and Khammam districts on Sunday.

In Nalgonda, the main event was organised at Mekala Abhinav Outdoor Stadium, where hundreds of students and youth performed yoga asanas under the guidance of instructors.
District collector B. Chandrasekhar said a healthy society could be built through yoga and advised people, especially students, to practise it for 15 to 20 minutes daily. He said the importance of yoga had been recognised globally.
In Bhadradri Kothagudem district, celebrations were held at a mini stadium in Palwancha.
Speaking at the event, NCC 11th battalion commanding officer S.K. Bhadra said yoga was part of India’s cultural heritage and helped maintain physical and mental well-being. He added that regular practice would help students lead a disciplined and healthy life.
In Khammam, the event was organised at Sardar Patel Stadium by the AYUSH and sports departments.
