Hyderabad: Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences (Nims) conducted a large‑scale Swachh Nims drive on Sunday to restore the hospital campus after unseasonal rains left fallen branches, leaves and accumulated waste across several areas.

Under the leadership of director Prof Rahul Devaraj and additional medical superintendent Dr Lakshmi Bhaskar, cleaning was carried out on main roads, hospital buildings, gardens, parking areas and pedestrian pathways. Teams removed broken branches, cleared leaves, plastic and other debris, and disposed of the waste.

The administration also identified water‑stagnation spots and undertook measures to prevent mosquito breeding. Officials said the campaign aimed to ensure a clean, safe environment for patients, visitors and staff.

Prof Devaraj said hospital cleanliness is critical for patient safety and public health, noting that a clean atmosphere reduces infection risks and creates positivity for patients.
