Nellore: Former minister and YSR Congress Nellore district president Kakani Govardhan Reddy on Sunday alleged that the coalition government was foisting false cases against opposition leaders and asserted that the YSRC would not be intimidated by arrests or imprisonment.

Speaking after meeting former DCCB chairman and YSR Congress leader Kamireddy Satyanarayana Reddy, who was released on bail after spending 97 days in Nellore jail, Kakani claimed that the leader had been targeted for questioning alleged illegal sand mining activities and exposing government failures.
He alleged that fresh cases and PT warrants were used to prevent Satyanarayana Reddy’s release despite his securing bail.
Former Sullurpet MLA Kiliveti Sanjeevaiah also accused the government of harassing YSRC leaders and farmers through what he described as false cases linked to protests against alleged illegal sand transportation.
Satyanarayana Reddy thanked YSRC president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy and party leaders for supporting him during his incarceration. Maintaining that he had been falsely implicated, he said he would continue raising issues related to alleged illegal sand mining.
A large number of YSRC leaders and supporters gathered outside Nellore Central Jail to welcome Satyanarayana Reddy following his release on bail.
