Hyderabad, Adilabad: Going beyond the call of duty, the police come to the rescue of the NEET-UG aspirants and helped them to reach the centres on time during the re-test on Sunday.

A student from Tolichowki, Hassan Hashmi, along with his father, mistakenly reached the Kendriya Vidyalaya at Tirumalagiri instead of the actual centre at the KV at Bolaram. After reaching Trimulgherry, the staff informed the student that his centre was at Bolaram.

As it was already 1.20 pm, and candidates were to be allowed inside the exam centre only until 1.30 pm, Bolaram ACP Ramesh Kumar arranged a police vehicle to drop the student at KV Bolaram, via Rashtrapati Nilayam gate route. The student reached there in five minutes, at about 1.25 pm, just five minutes before the deadline.

In another incident, a student, accompanied by her parents, reached the Osmania University Arts College instead of the Osmania University College of Engineering, which was her centre.

According to Osmania University station house officer M Mahesh, the police dropped the student at the centre as time was running out, and the Arts College and the Engineering College were at a considerable distance though on the same campus.

In Mancherial district, police found an aspirant in distress for not carrying passport-size photographs, which were mandatory for entry into the centre. They took her in a patrol vehicle to a nearby photo studio to obtain photographs, and dropped her at the centre on time. She expressed her gratitude to the police for their timely assistance.
