Officials at Downing Street ready for statement

Officials at the prime minister’s home and office in Downing Street in London have begun setting up the podium in front of Number 10 for the expected announcement from Prime Minister Keir Starmer.
Amid all the reporting of his plans to step down, this is the first real sign of an imminent announcement.
Dozens of reporters are set up across the small street – which is closed off to the public – to watch his statement.
