Was Marilyn Monroe’s Suicide Staged? Death Scene Reinvestigated, ‘Sheets Being Clean And Perfect…’

Marilyn Monroe’s untimely death at 36 raised many suspicions. Marilyn Monroe died on August 4, 1962, under mysterious circumstances. Her psychiatrist, Ralph Greenson, found Marilyn dead as she lay on her bed nude, only covered by a sheet. Her face was down with a telephone in one hand. Later, a toxicology report suggested that Marilyn died from acute barbiturate and chloral hydrate poisoning. However, after six decades of her death, her death case is revisited by Paul Holes.

Was Marilyn Monroe’s suicide staged?

The retired investigator, Paul Holes, applying his expertise to the movie star’s 1962 death in TMZ’s Celebrity Crime Scene: Marilyn Monroe. He is studying every aspect of the celebrity’s death, examining and questioning theories related to the same. He pointed out how the actress’s death scene was poorly documented, leaving many questions unanswered.

As per Holes, the first red flag he pointed out at Marilyn’s death was the photographs showing her bed, in which she was found dead. He pointed out how the bed looked perfectly arranged. In his words:

“There are very few photos of the death scene. However, even with the one photograph that exists, showing her dead in her own bed, my eyes, based on my experience and expertise, immediately picked out inconsistencies, such as the sheets being clean and perfect. She’s arranged on the bed in such a way that it doesn’t look like an overdose to me.”

The bottle pills were arranged neatly

The toxicology report of Marilyn Monroe claimed that the actress died of acute barbiturate. Police recovered an empty bottle 50 Nembutal capsules, a powerful prescription sedative used to treat insomnia. As per Holes, the pill bottles on the little nightstand near Marilyn’s bed were all perfectly arranged, with all the labels facing in the right direction, which also included the bottle of Nembutal.

Holes revealed that though Marilyn struggled with her mental health during her lifetime, he had doubts whether the actress could intentionally take her own life. Speaking about the same, he shared:

“It was a prescription that had been filled two days before for 50 capsules of this barbiturate, and it was empty. It was perfectly set on that nightstand with the lid on. People who are going to ingest that number of pills at once don’t typically take that kind of care to tidy up before they lie down on the bed. It’s what I call an inconsistency.”

Was Marilyn Monroe’s body tampered with?

There were claims that Marilyn’s dead body too was tampered with, as Dr Thomas Noguchi claimed that materials from her stomach and intestines had been ‘destroyed’. When Greenson discovered Marilyn’s body, it was facing down. But when her body was taken to the coroner’s office, it was placed on her back.

 Forensic pathologist Cyril Wecht explained that since Marilyn’s body was moved after she was discovered, “There was no dual lividity present when she was found.” So it was important to call a medical examiner or a forensic pathologist. But the time lapse in Marilyn’s death changed the entire case. Several reports also surfaced that reporters bribed the morgue guards to acquire photos of Marilyn’s body. 

Murder conspiracy in Marilyn Monroe’s death

Another conspiracy theory stated that Marilyn was murdered. There had been many reports stating that Marilyn was murdered by John and/or Robert Kennedy, with whom she allegedly had love affairs. The reports also claimed that the Kennedys killed Marilyn since they feared that she would make the relationship public. The Kennedys also believed that Marilyn would leak many government secrets that she was aware of.
