Patna: Police arrested at least 30 persons for allegedly attempting irregularities during the NEET-UG re-examination in Bihar, an officer said on Monday.
ADG (Law and Order) Sudhanshu Kumar said 18 persons working at exam centres were arrested for allegedly violating biometric verification norms and colluding with dummy candidates and middlemen.
According to Lakhisarai police, nine impersonators, one genuine candidate and two associates were also arrested. Most of the impersonators allegedly tried to write the exam in place of genuine candidates.
Police said two FIRs were registered at Kiul and Kavaiyya police stations.
The re-examination was held across Bihar on Sunday under tight security after the original undergraduate medical entrance test, held in early May, was cancelled following allegations of a question paper leak.
