Romeo Beckham is taking a plunge into the acting world after successfully starting a modelling career following his foray into football
Romeo Beckham is following in his brother Brooklyn’s footsteps by switching up his careers – but his parents will hope their relationship doesn’t follow suit.
Romeo, who has also been a footballer and a model, is set to make his on-screen debut in a new romantic tennis movie. It comes as big brother Brooklyn, who has also tried his hand at several careers, continues to distance himself from the family.
And now, Studiocanal has unveiled a first look at 23-year-old Romeo in his acting debut. He will feature in Forty Love, a film directed by renowned fashion photographer Pierre-Ange Carlotti.
Romeo stars alongside Paul Kircher, Guillaume Canet and Benjamin Voisin. Catherine Deneuve also features. According to IMDB, the movie synopsis is: “A drama set in professional tennis, exploring the balance between ambition, performance, and intimacy on the French Riviera.”
The movie, which also marks the first directorial outing of Carlotti, is produced by Hugo Sélignac and Paco de Bary at Chi-Fou-Mi Productio, a Mediawan company, and co-produced by Studiocanal and Manna Studios.
As Romeo ventures into his new career, it appears he is still far from impressed with brother Brooklyn, he continues to shun his family. Cruz and Romeo Beckham both publicly backed their sister Harper, 14, after the family were accused “choreographing” her attempt to visit brother Brooklyn.
The teen was photographed looking down in the dumps on Friday, June 12, as she approached her sibling’s Beverly Hills home before leaving again just moments later.
Shortly after the snaps broke, the Beckhams were accused of “using Harper as a pawn,” by Brooklyn, 27, and Nicola’s camp. But friends of parents Victoria and David Beckham reportedly slammed the “nasty accusation levelled at an innocent young girl”.
And Romeo, went on to call his little sister his “favourite person ever” while sharing a selfie of them on Instagram. In the image, Romeo was wearing a Brazil jacket from his clothing label Intra as they pulled funny faces.
The latest drama for the family emerged after Harper attended the £14million Los Angeles property, reportedly carrying a handwritten letter for Brooklyn.
Representatives for Brooklyn and Nicola said: “[The fact] that photographers were in place as the letter was hand delivered says it all – this was choreographed for the cameras.”
But hitting back, people close to Posh and Becks fumed: “It is incredibly sad that this horrible accusation is being levelled at an innocent young girl who just desperately misses her brother. Nothing needed to be said at all so to invent this nasty accusation is really unnecessary.”
Brooklyn has since released a DoorDash advert in which he mocks his family fallout. The ad for this year’s World Cup had many moments taking sarcastic jibes at the expensive of his parents and siblings.
