The former Little Mix star has addressed speculation that she will feature in ITV’s The Only Way is Essex
Jesy Nelson has responded to speculation linking her with ITV’s The Only Way is Essex.
The former Little Mix member, 35, recently allowed cameras to document her journey for an exclusive Prime Video docuseries entitled Life After Little Mix. She also has a new documentary, titled Jesy Nelson: Life Changing, which arrives on screens on July 17.
Therefore fans weren’t particularly surprised when speculation emerged suggesting her next project would be TOWIE, given the singer’s Romford upbringing.
A source reportedly informed The Sun that Jesy is in “advanced talks” to become part of the reality programme.
The tabloid reported that “a well-placed insider” claimed: “It’s a total natural fit. Jesy is from Essex and knows a lot of the cast anyway so it’s not going to feel forced. She’s been talking a lot to Lauren and Amy Childs in particular so it’s likely she’ll be a part of their glam mums group.”
However, Jesy has dismissed these suggestions mere hours after the story initially emerged, reports OK!.
Posting to Instagram, the mother-of-two stated: “Well this is the first I’m hearing of this.”
She proceeded to clarify the only accurate element behind the speculation, adding: “I can confirm I am defo not joining the cast of Towie. I just like to watch it.”
Fans had been questioning how Jesy would slot into the programme, given that she relocated her entire life to Cornwall to give twin daughters Ocean Jade and Story Monroe Nelson-Foster a more peaceful upbringing.
The first-time mum recently disclosed that her two young daughters have been diagnosed with spinal muscular atrophy (also known as SMA Type 1), a rare condition that leads to progressive muscle weakness.
The life-changing diagnosis has prompted Jesy to share the day-to-day realities of raising her girls in a forthcoming “raw and powerful” documentary.
An official synopsis for the upcoming film reads: “This raw and powerful documentary follows Jesy as she comes to terms with what the diagnosis means for her girls, adapts to the everyday challenges of their conditions, and finds her footing as a single mother after the break up of her relationship. But this is far more than a personal story.”
It continues: “Jesy channels her experience into a campaign to change how the UK screens newborns for the disease. It’s a portrait of motherhood, resilience and the fierce determination that comes from knowing that a simple change in the system can save lives.”
Jesy Nelson: Life Changing premieres on Prime Video on July 17th
