Hyderabad: Distribution of special intensive revision (SIR)-2026 enumeration forms commenced in the city on Thursday, with booth level officers (BLOs) going door to door in several areas to hand them over. The forms contained the photograph of the elector and their details.
Two copies of the form were handed over, one of which will be collected after a week while the elector will retain the other one as acknowledgment.
Where required, the BLOs also distributed Form-6 to the people who said they are yet to enroll, Form-7 for duplicate entries and Form-8 for change in address.
In some areas, the BLOs took the help of booth level agents (BLAs) appointed by political parties to execute this task.
While the process was seamless in colonies, residents in slums said they needed assistance as the forms were printed only in English. The forms in English were distributed in the 15 Assembly constituencies of Hyderabad district, and in Telugu in the remaining part of the city and rest of the state. In Serilingampally constituency covering a major part of the IT corridor the forms were distributed in Telugu.
When asked for the forms in Telugu, the BLOs told residents that they would assist them in their follow-up visit within a week. Electors especially in the Old City area sought forms in Urdu. The response was the same.
In Filmnagar, Jubilee Hills, GHMC commissioner and district electoral officer (DEO) R.V. Karnan inspected the process.
