A BJP councillor from Delhi was seriously injured after being attacked by a stray cow on Wednesday. The injured councillor, Shashi Chandna, represents the Mandawali ward in East Delhi.
She was admitted to a hospital in East Delhi following the incident. According to Shashi Chandna, the attack took place at around 10 a.m. on June 24 as she was returning home after offering prayers at a temple in Mandawali.
Recalling the incident, she said the cow suddenly charged at her, attacked her with its horns and flung her into the air. She fell onto the road and sustained injuries to her head and body.
The incident comes at a time when residents have been raising concerns over the increasing menace of stray animals on Delhi’s streets.
