What Liberty’s Breanna Stewart thinks about her 3-point decline — and what she’s doing to fix it

LAS VEGAS — Breanna Stewart had enough. During a recent workout with Liberty director of player development Andrew Wade, she told him as much.

“F–ing start fining me every time it’s short,” Stewart said. “I’m over it at this point.”

Stewart’s 3-point shot isn’t falling like it used to. It’s been on a three-year decline since she joined the Liberty ahead of the 2023 season.

Last season, she shot a career-low 24.1 percent from deep, making just 21 of her 3-point attempts, the fewest in her nine WNBA seasons. That was down from 29.5 percent in the Liberty’s title-winning season in 2024 and from 35.5 percent when she won MVP in her first season in New York.
