Multi-millionaire and former reality TV star Georgia Toffolo received backlash on TikTok when she posted about a £28 H&M top she bought – which people thought was tone deaf.
Georgia Toffolo has been slammed by fans after she cracked a “breaking the bank” joke on social media regarding her budget wardrobe.
Despite being a multi-millionaire, the former Made in Chelsea star, 31, took to TikTok on Friday where she shared a clip praising the “amazing” high street while joking her latest buys didn’t “break the bank”.
The clip shows Georgia, known as Toff, twirling around in a £33 pink strapless top from H&M, currently on sale and going for £28.
Speaking to her fans, she said: “The high street is just amazing. I could cry, it’s gonna have to go back cos it’s too big for me, really gappy.”
She then realised the top ties at the back to adjust the sizing, as she exclaimed: “Oh no, I can salvage it.”
“Don’t you think this looks so expensive. Like I’ve kitted myself out for my next holiday,” she added to her TikTok followers.
Toff ended the clip by saying that it had not “broken my bank, I can tell you” before asserting she thought the purchase was “really special”.
However, the former reality star didn’t get the reception she’d clearly hoped for, with fans hitting out at her in the comments, with one person saying it was “one of the most embarrassing videos I’ve seen in a while”.
Another person questioned whether “anyone else find this tone deaf”, while another TikTok user explained “High Street purchases aren’t a choice for most of us though”.
Georgia has previously spoken candidly about her love for a bargain, and just earlier this month she raved to her followers about how to find bargains on Vinted.
Speaking in the video, she said: “I have a gift and I didn’t know God gave me this gift. I am the bargain hunter. “Until I really started taking Vinted seriously, about three months ago… My secret talent is finding the best stuff on Vinted.”
“I think there are real sharks on there,” she continued. “Me being one of them. There are tips and tricks that I am going to tell you, to find all the good stuff. It’s unfair that I am getting all the good stuff.”
Showing off some of her amazing finds, she added: “I have a tendency to lowball people on Vinted. It’s like my dirty secret. And I was getting quite embarrassed about the whole thing.”
