Channing Tatum is taking on a whole new role for the World Cup in honor of his new doppelganger.

While not a paid gig, the “Magic Mike” actor embraced his similar looks to Norway’s Erling Haaland and could be found in a sea of fans on Friday at Gillette Stadium for the group stage match against France, all dressed as the long-haired striker, wearing a jersey with the Scandinavian country’s flag and a blond wig.

Haaland, one of the top players in the Premier League for Manchester City, is one of the biggest figures in the World Cup.

The creative minds behind Nike’s “Rip the Script” ad ahead of the World Cup saw the resemblance between the actor and soccer star first. They had Tatum, 46, dress up as Haaland, 25, to help advertise the soccer spectacle and the faces to know in the sport.

Haaland was flattered by Tatum’s transformation.

He called Tatum a “handsome man” in a behind-the-scenes video posted on his Instagram in early June when the actor first debuted his look for the Nike campaign.

“I’m not complaining,” the 25-year-old added. “This is incredible.”

“Ripped the script with my new stunt double,” Tatum said in his own Instagram post.

Ever since, Tatum hasn’t backed off the bit.

On Friday, he could be spotted taking selfies with his other Haaland lookalikes in the fan section and joined them in their chants for their team.

He even signed autographs for fans.

The passion for this newfound friendship didn’t strain, despite the fact that Haaland sat on the bench for the entirety of the final group stage match.

Norway went on to lose 4-1 to France, but both advanced to the Round of 32.

Haaland, who has four goals across two group stage games, is set to face Ivory Coast on June 30 in Dallas as the heat of the tournament starts.
