Victoria Beckham was among the first to congratulate Holly Ramsay on her pregnancy – but insiders claimed that the announcement may have been ‘bittersweet’ for the Spice Girl

Victoria Beckham was one of the first to congratulate Gordon Ramsay’s daughter Holly on her baby news, but we’re told the announcement will have been bittersweet for the designer, and for a very personal reason.
Last week Holly, 26, and her husband, Olympic swimmer Adam Peaty, 31, revealed they are set to welcome a baby together later this year, posting, “Baby Ramsay-Peaty coming December 2026”, alongside a snap of Holly showing off her baby bump. They even confirmed their unborn child’s gender, adding, “We can’t wait to meet our baby girl.”
Victoria, who is a close friend of the Ramsays, immediately sent well wishes on Instagram, writing, “Congratulations!!!!!!” followed by six love heart emojis.
However, a source told new magazine that Holly’s baby news will be a painful reminder for Victoria of her estrangement from her eldest son Brooklyn – and of the very real possibility that if daughter-in-law Nicola were to fall pregnant, she might not get to meet her grandchild.
“Seeing Adam and Holly announce that they’re expecting their first child is a reminder that there could be a chance Brooklyn and Nicola will have a baby, and Victoria won’t be a part of her grandchild’s life,” they said. “It’s particularly sad and a real knife to her heart because the way things are, she could never meet a potential grandchild. It’s heartbreaking.”
Victoria’s husband David and middle son Romeo also congratulated Holly and Adam, who married in a star-studded ceremony at Bath Abbey in December last year. And Holly’s dad, celebrity chef Gordon, wrote, “Congratulations to you both. Sending lots of love, Dad [heart emoji]. I’m going to be a very overexcited Grandad, especially this Christmas.”
Sadly for Victoria, her family’s rift with Brooklyn is showing no signs of healing. And based on recent reports, tensions are at an all-time high, with Brooklyn said to have been “fuming” over his parents’ recent show of love on Father’s Day.
Both David and Victoria marked the event by posting snaps of all of their children, including Brooklyn, on social media. Praising her husband for his fathering skills, Victoria, 52, shared a throwback snap of David, 51, with Brooklyn, 27, Romeo, 23, Cruz, 21, and Harper, 14, in happier times.
“David you truly are the best daddy,” she captioned the photo, which showed him posing proudly next to Brooklyn and his other children. “Your greatest achievement has always been our beautiful children and we love you so much.”
David also shared snaps of himself with his children, including Brooklyn, and wrote, “Being a dad is my most important job… I love you all & thank you mummy @victoriabeckham for giving me our beautiful family.”
Sadly, Brooklyn didn’t respond and was said to be angered by the posts, having previously instructed his parents not to tag him online – a plea they have chosen to ignore. According to our insider, Brooklyn’s snub will have come as yet another blow to his family – but to his mother in particular.
“Victoria is heartbroken,” they continued. “She puts on a good front and posts all of the happy pictures online, but she wakes up thinking about Brooklyn and thinks about him before she goes to bed. She thinks about him every minute and just wants him to reach out, but the more she tries, the more it makes him go the other way.”
Relations between Brooklyn and his parents have continued to sour since his marriage to Nicola Peltz-Beckham in 2022. In January this year, he sent shockwaves across the globe when he released a damning six-slide social media statement slamming his parents.
“I have been silent for years and made every effort to keep these matters private,” he wrote. “I do not want to reconcile with my family. I’m not being controlled, I’m standing up for myself for the first time in my life.”
At the time, new magazine told of how Victoria had been left “on her knees” in the aftermath of the tirade, in which her son accused her of leaving Nicola, 31, without a wedding dress at “the eleventh hour”. But his allegation that Victoria “hijacked” his first dance and then “danced very inappropriately on me” is said to be the claim that humiliated her the most.
Six months on, the insider said Victoria is no closer to coming to terms with what’s happened. “She is surrounded by family, but it’s very hard to have fallen out with your son,” they said.
Like the Beckhams, the Ramsays are no strangers to a family feud. After being frozen out of Holly and Adam’s hen and stag dos, Adam’s parents Caroline and Mark did not attend the December wedding, while Holly’s parents Gordon and Tana had pride of place at the event.
Earlier this year, Gordon slammed claims he’d “bullied” Caroline and Mark. The insider added: “The Ramsays have had their trouble with family, but [what’s happening with the Beckhams] feels worse in a way. There’s a chance the Ramsays could potentially resolve things, but with the Beckhams, it feels like there’s no chance.”
