The family of a 35-year-old man from Mandurah, south of Perth, are desperate to make contact with their loved one after he vanished while in Mexico.
Jesse Bruzzese was last known to be in Riviera Maya in the holiday hotspot of Cancun on June 3.
Mexican authorities have issued an interpol yellow alert for Bruzzese, releasing a photo of him along with images of his distinguishing arm tattoos in the hope someone recognises him.
Yellow alert notices are global police alerts to help look for a missing person.
A family friend posted a plea on Instagram on Monday on behalf of Bruzzese’s family, who say it is out of character for him to have not contacted them for three weeks.
“We are growing more worried as each day goes by,” the statement read.
“We are asking that if you have had any recent contact with him, or have any information that may help confirm that he is safe and well, please reach out to our family privately or contact police.
“Jesse, if you happen to see this, please know that we love you so much and we are worried about you. We aren’t looking to pressure you or invade your privacy, we simply want to know that you’re okay. Please reach out to someone and let them know you’re safe.
“We want to thank everyone for the support, kindness and willingness to help us search. It means more to our family than we can put into words.”
WA Police said it was aware of the missing person report and were supporting the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade with their inquiries.
Bruzzese is about 176 centimetres tall, about 70 kilograms with a fair complexion, slim build, brown eyes and short dark brown hair.
It is not known what he was wearing at the time he went missing.
