Shah Rukh Khan has marked a major milestone for cricket in the United States with the unveiling of the LA Knight Riders Cricket Ground in Pomona, California. His Knight Riders Group (KRG) officially inaugurated the state-of-the-art venue, which is expected to play a significant role in the growth of the sport in the country ahead of its return to the Olympic Games.

The newly built stadium is set to host cricket matches during the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics, where the sport will make its Olympic comeback after more than a century. The venue will also serve as the official home ground of the Los Angeles Knight Riders franchise in Major League Cricket.

Sharing the milestone with fans, Shah Rukh, who co-owns the Los Angeles Knight Riders, took to social media and described the inauguration as the fulfilment of a long-cherished dream.

He wrote, “What started as a dream… turns into reality today. Welcoming you all to the Knight Riders Cricket Ground, LA. A place built not just for sports but also entertainment and for families… and memories that last forever.”

The venue is all set to host its first competitive cricket match today, marking the beginning of a new chapter for cricket in Southern California. It is also expected to become a key hub for the Los Angeles Knight Riders as they prepare to play their first home fixture in Major League Cricket.

On the film front, Shah Rukh Khan will next be seen in King, directed by Siddharth Anand. The action entertainer, which also stars Suhana Khan, Abhishek Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, Anil Kapoor, Arshad Warsi and Rani Mukerji, is slated to release in cinemas on December 24, 2026.
