Kakinada:Polavaram MLA Chirri Bala Raju of the Jana Sena Party on Friday expressed confidence that his party would perform strongly in the upcoming local body elections and said he would personally select the party’s candidates.
Addressing supporters after climbing onto the roof of his vehicle on the main road at Jangareddygudem, the MLA said the candidate chosen by him would win the local body elections. He declared that if his nominee failed to win, he would change his name.
During his speech, traffic on the road came to a temporary halt.
The MLA also criticised the influence of non-tribal leadership in his constituency and said he was committed to ending what he described as the feudal dominance of “Doras” in the region.
