The new Giants coaching staff is bringing in a familiar face.

The Giants claimed defensive end C.J. Ravenell off waivers Tuesday after the 6-foot-5, 300-pounder was cut from the Titans injured reserve list the previous day.

Ravenell, 26, spent the 2024 season in Baltimore with John Harbaugh as a member of the Ravens practice squad.

Last year, the undrafted free agent — out of Division II Missouri Western — played under new Giants defensive coordinator Dennard Wilson, who served in the same role in Tennessee.

Ravenell appeared in 14 games (one start) with the Titans, recording six tackles (one solo) and one forced fumble.

The Giants made room on the 90-man roster by waiving cornerback Rico Payton with an injury designation.

Payton, 26, was primarily used on special teams while appearing in nine games with the Giants last season, making 12 tackles (five solo).
