US fitness influencer Connor Murphy has reportedly drowned in a lake in Bang Phli, Thailand.
US fitness influencer and looksmaxxer Connor Murphy, 32, is said to have drowned in a lake in Thailand. His death was reported on 7 July and later confirmed by friends in tribute posts on social media on 8 July.
According to local press, police were called to the property in Bang Phli around 3pm on 7 July after a man was reported to be acting erratically before entering the water. It has since been reported that Murphy’s body was recovered 20m from the shore after divers conducted a search for half an hour.
While the investigation is said to be ongoing and a post-mortem has been ordered, the death is reportedly being presumed to be the result of drowning, as there were no signs of assault on the body.
A security guard at the luxury estate where Murphy’s rental property was located told press that he launched into a sprint before diving into the lake. Murphy was said to have swum until he became tired and then vanished beneath the surface. The lake in question is 10 metres deep.
Murphy had been living in the property, estimated to be worth £493,000, in Bang Phli for three months with his girlfriend, 22.
Murphy made a name for himself as an influencer, specialising in fitness and looksmaxxing content where people go to extreme lengths to change their appearance.
Across his social media, he build a following of nearly three million. He described himself as a ‘giga chad’, which is a term for a male in peak physical fitness. His last post was on 3 July, where he filmed a video of his makeshift golf course in his Thai property.
