Adam Thomas has shared that his mother, Gail, had to be rushed to hospital after he found her lying on the floor, screaming ‘I’m going to die’, and opened up with his brothers about the terrifying moment
Adam Thomas has opened up about the terrifying moment he had to rush his mother Gail to hospital. The I’m A Celebrity star recalled the moment he found his mum screaming on the floor with his brothers, Scott and Ryan, on their podcast.
37-year-old Adam started by talking about a recent operation Gail had. “She rang me to pick her up from the hospital,” he said. “It’s the first time I saw her in quite a lot of pain and looked at her and thought she’s getting older.”
After wheeling her out of the hospital, Adam let his mum stay with him for a few days, because she wasn’t well enough to be on her own. Scott, 37, then revealed that their mother had called him “screaming ‘get round here now'”.
He added: “I arrived and she was on the floor, screaming in so much pain. She was like ‘I’ve called an ambulance, I don’t know what’s going to happen, I think I’m dying.’ The ambulance came out and basically calmed her down and said ‘Listen, we think you’ve got a stomach bug’.”
After being seen by the paramedics, Gail tried to carry on as normal, but two days later, she was still in pain and called Scott again. “The third day, she rang me again and said it had come back again, we called an ambulance again and she was in so much pain.
“When she went to hospital, she was told she had gall stones and had to have her gallbladder removed and she’ s been an absolute solider.”
This is just the latest of revelations that have been shared on At Home with the Thomas Bros, as Adam previously shared that his true feelings after what happened on I’m A Celebrity South Africa on the podcast.
During his stint on the all star version of I’m A Celeb, Adam got into a feud with David Haye and Jimmy Bullard, ultimately culminating in a sweary and tearful rant. David had berated Adam and called him “useless” when the actor, who suffers from arthritis, said he felt ill, while Jimmy quit the show mid-challenge, putting Adam at risk and angering him.
Speaking to his brothers on his podcast, Adam explained that he was “anxious” about the show coming out because of the “hard time” he went through.
“As the series goes on, you’ll see me having a hard time with some campmates and a part of me coming out that I’ve not seen before,” he said. “I wasn’t dreading it but I was anxious about it.”
He later continued to say that he was a different person to the one that went into the Jungle and had to start therapy when he came out. Adam said: “I know for a fact that I’m not the same person that went into the jungle. I’m in therapy, it f**ked with me mentally. I thought, ‘How is this happening’ I’m a 37 year old man.”
Trying to explain why he struggled so much, he added: “I was putting other people’s feelings before mine. So I just took it until eventually, it got to a point where I was literally at breaking point.” Adam described his time in the show as “so lonely”, before he had to stop speaking because he had begun to cry.
