Hyderabad:Cyclists urged officials to immediately restore the portion of the solar-roofed cycle track on the Outer Ring Road (ORR) that had been dismantled recently to facilitate the construction of an underpass. The Hyderabad Growth Corridor Limited (HGCL), a wing of the HMDA dismantled 34-metre section of the 23-km track near the My Home Avatar Junction.
Ravi Sambari of Hyderabad Cycling Revolution urged the authorities to restore it immediately. Cyclists also took to the social media platform X said complained that officials always prioritised providing infrastructure for cars over building cycling tracks.
S. Selvn, the ‘Bicycle Mayor of Hyderabad’, questioning the dismantling of the cycle track, asked if the officials would dismantle the Durgam Cheruvu cable bridge or an age-old palace to make way for vehicles.
