
HYDERABAD: Cashless treatment under new QR-coded health cards will egin from July 15, the Employees Health Care Trust (EHCT) Board decided on Friday. The cards can be downloaded on mobile phones, and treatment will be available at 943 hospitals for 2,594 procedures.
The meeting, chaired by Chief Secretary Sanjay Jaju, also decided that CGHS rates would apply to treatments. Officials said the government order containing the revised EHS guidelines would be issued within four days.
An EHCT mobile app carrying all scheme details will be developed. The government plans to open 24 wellness centres at district headquarters, in addition to the existing 12 in operation to provide statewide coverage. These centres will provide outpatient care, diagnostic tests and regular medicines.
A meeting with EHS CEO Hanumanthu Kodimba is scheduled for Monday to discuss the revised guidelines. Senior officials and representatives f employees’ and pensioners’ associations attended Friday’s meeting.
