Hyderabad: The body of a Hyderabad student who had been reported missing in Finland has been found, local police said.
The deceased has been identified as Manideep Reddy Gujja (18), a native of Hayathnagar in Rangareddy district. His body was recovered from the sea off Kruunuvuorenranta in Helsinki on July 9 during a search operation.
According to police, there is currently no suspicion of foul play, and the cause of death remains under investigation.
Manideep had moved to Finland in 2025 to pursue engineering studies at LUT University in Lahti. He was last seen in early May in the Kruunuvuorenranta area after reportedly travelling from Lahti to Helsinki by Z-train on May 5. His last confirmed sighting was at a K-Market store in the area, police said.
His disappearance triggered extensive search operations led by Finland’s National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), with support from Helsinki Police and the Finnish Border Guard.
Family members said Manideep was last in contact with them on May 5, when he informed his mother that he was at a bakery and would return to his accommodation shortly. However, he did not return, and his phone has remained switched off since then.
Authorities said no further details will be released as the investigation is ongoing.
