Hyderabad: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy extended his best wishes to devotees across the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad on the occasion of the Ashada Masam Bonalu festival, which begins on Thursday.

The Chief Minister said the Bonalu festival, which reflects the state’s culture and traditions, is a symbol of the lifestyle and social unity of the people of Hyderabad. He added that the festival is also a grand spiritual and cultural event for residents across the Hyderabad region.

The state government has already made elaborate arrangements for Bonalu to ensure the festival is celebrated with grandeur across more than 3,000 temples within the Greater Hyderabad limits, covering Hyderabad, Ranga Reddy, and Medchal-Malkajgiri districts. The government has sanctioned Rs 20 crore for this year’s Bonalu celebrations.

He said the Bonalu celebrations in the twin cities stand as a shining example of Telangana’s Ganga-Jamuna Tehzeeb (composite culture) and embody the spirit of secularism.
