Louise Thompson and her fiancé, Ryan Libbey, have decided to leave their podcast He Said, She Said, after ongoing backlash and a string of what he called “pretty tricky episodes”.

The former Made in Chelsea star and her husband-to-be have faced backlash over the years for some of their opinions and comments, including most recently when they spoke out about potty training.

The duo, whose podcast claimed to be an ‘unfiltered’ chat, appeared to make comments mocking children who are still in nappies when they start school. Louise said a statistic that one in four children are sent to school before being fully potty trained left her “shocked” before laughing when Ryan said “that’s a raw deal” for teachers who have to deal with it.

She added: “Maybe its a bit of a cop out they’re like ‘oh my child’s crying and they’re being a bit difficult, I can’t be bothered with the hassle so I’m just going to take the easy route.'”

Furious fans at the time branded her “privileged” and dubbed the conversation “disgusting and disappointing” while explaining there are many reasons children could not be fully potty trained before starting school.

At the time, Louise was forced to apologise in an Instagram statement, saying: “It was never our intention to offend so many people and children who have so many of their own challenges and both Ryan and I are deeply devastated.”

Now they have now decided to call it quits and hang up their microphones. Announcing the decision on He Said, She Said, Louise explained: “For a long time we’ve really been focusing heavily on work and I think now it’s time for us to take some time to ourselves.

“Our son starts school in September and also you know we’ve spoken very honestly about our fertility journey and the run up to that on here.”

She added: “We’re in an exciting spot with it now, moving forward quite quickly. So we’re actually going to be pressing pause on the podcast for a little while as we step into what feels like maybe a new chapter in our lives.”

Chiming in, Ryan added: “There’s been sort of a mixed bag of some pretty tricky episodes but then some fun moments and overall it’s a good opportunity to grow as a couple.

“Those days felt particularly difficult, it’s reassuring and super refreshing as well to know that the level of honesty and vulnerability does touch and connect with people.”

Louise finished off by saying: “We’re so grateful for your continued support and I just wanted to say how much we’ve loved building this community.”

While the couple have had their own share of ups and downs, many fans have loved the podcast and praised the couple for sharing their fertility journey after Louise and Ryan had been candid about their own struggles to conceive.
